I Have Been Relapsing With The "virus" Cough On And

I have been relapsing with the "virus" cough on and off since January. (been on steroid pills and OTC cough meds. I am 63 year old woman. Last 2 weeks (no "virus symptoms' remaining, but I have pain in mid chest and from shoulder blade to shoulder blade. Went on Sunday to "one of those emergency centers, and the Dr. said my lungs are clear, take Mucinex DM. But no relief. Any suggestions.
