I Have Been Sick For 5 Days But Have Not

I have been sick for 5 days but have not gone to the doctor yet. I thought I had a cold. I have had swollen nodes, no energy and no voice. My wife had a look at my throat tonight, and she thinks these is puss on my tonsils. I feel capable of going back to work, but am very run down and can't talk. Am I best to wait it out, or see the doctor for some antibiotics?
