I Have Been Sick With A Cough And Some Heavy

I have been sick with a cough and some heavy breathing this has been going on for about two months. My doctor thought it might be my heart he did chest x-rays and blood test and eco gram. my heart is fine he did say he heard a little of whizzings i took pridizone for a week and before that a z-pack for a few days.. this got rid of cough for most but i still seem to gasp for air. at night when i lay down i feel a heaviness on my chest and it is uncomfortable. my question is should I go back to my doctors and have some test ran to confirm asthma. Should I consider a inhaler for this season?
