I Have Been Suffering From Diverticulitis For About 8 Years

I have been suffering from Diverticulitis for about 8 years (first hospitalization with IV antibiotics), I have had pre-cancer polyps removed twice. My Diverticulitis attacks are coming more frequently every few months and lately 2 attacks requiring oral antibiotics in less than 2 months. My Colonoscopy is overdue but I'm afraid of the procedure will infected. I'm a 59 year old male with family history of Colon cancer (paternal, death at 64 years). Recently my PSA levels have risen with some discomfort near my groin and pubic area, it seems to correspond with the Diverticulitis attacks, I have a consult scheduled with a Urologist. What else can I do? I'm over due as I said for my Colonoscopy but as I said I'm afraid it's intrusive nature may cause a perforation.
