I have been suffering from an ailment for the past 6 months. It started with pain in the base of my neck. I was unable to put my chin to my chest. I would then have pain in various area of the body. Example rt. wrist bone, left pinkie finger joint below left knee cap. This pain was only when you touched the skin, not joint or muscle pain. I have no history of any medical problems. I take no medication. My Internist ran blood work which cam e back perfect except for the rheumatoid panel which came back 650, He then sent me to a Rheumatologist who said I had no symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis but he decided he would put me on 40 mg of prednisone per day and methotrexate. The prednisone masked the pain and both drugs made me very sick. I finally weaned myself off of them. Went back to the Internal Med Doc who set up an appointment in July with another Rheumatologist but in the mean time he gave me Celebrex 200mg BID and also said I do not have any symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. This helps somewhat but since coming off the prednisone I have excrutiating muscle pain in my ankles, knees, wrists and shooting pains from the right shoulder down to my elbow and shoting pains from my left ring finger into my hand. This has been so debilitating that some days I cannot get out of bed. I cannot take pain medications and I tolerate pain very well. Example: They removed my gallbladder and I went back to work the next day. I took Baclofen yesterday and today and the majority of my muscle pain has subsided. I was able to shower and leave the house, do a load of laundry and cook supper.
