I Have Been Taking 1 Dose Of Quest Ran Daily

I have been taking 1 dose of quest ran daily for approx 1year. My GI doc ordered it for c/o frequent BM's. I used to take it BID but experienced a feeling similar to heartburn, so I reduced it to daily. But now am experiencing same symptoms. Can this drug cause these symptoms. If so can you recommend another cure for frequent BM's
