I Have Been Taking 40 Mg Nexium Daily For Digestive

I have been taking 40 mg Nexium daily for digestive issues. I have taken lower doses of a few other prescription meds for about 13 years. Does it make sense to stop the Nexium and take over the counter antacids instead along with a low fat no milk or cheese diet?
