I Have Been Taking Amitriptyline For Several Years For Peripheral

I have been taking Amitriptyline for several years for peripheral neuropathy. A month ago I had a stroke was was prescribed Neurontin. When I take both the Amitriptyline and Neurontin at bedtime it seems like I'm always drowsy in the morning. Are they counteracting each other or what?
