I Have Been Taking Metformin 1000 Mg Twice A Day

I have been taking Metformin 1000 mg twice a day and was unable to tolerate it. I have been switched to Glucophage to take once a day. I also take Levothyroxin. What are the chances of having the same gastric problems on the Glucophage and should I take it with the levothyroxine?
