Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been taking Viibryd for a couple of years for depression, and started taking Meloxicam for osteo arthritis about 3 months ago. Yesterday I received a call from my psychiatrist's office. The pharmacy from which I obtain my medicines said that there is an interaction between the two drugs and that I could develop an ulcer. Is that right? I stopped taking the Meloxicam about 10 days ago because I developed high blood pressure. My blood pressure is now normal. However, I have gnawing feelings in my stomach during the day between meals and at night. I also have burning in the esophogeal area. I read that both of these symptoms are related to an ulcer. What should I do? Thank you very much. PS. I take 2 Aleve once a week to alleviate flu-like symptoms that I get when I receive my weekly injection of Betaseron (interferon) for my relapsing/remitting MS.
