I Have Been Taking Alprozalam For 26 Years - I've

I have been taking alprozalam for 26 years - I've cut back my dosage slowly from 1mg 3x times a day to 1 a day . I'm finding it a bit hard now coming down from the 1 a day so I want to know if I can substitute buspirone to help get down to . 5 a day . Dr gave me 10mg buspirone script but will it help in between the cut down of the 1 mg to achieve my goal to reduce further to .5 a day?
