I Have Been To Local Hospital For An Xray For

I have been to local hospital for an xray for fractured 1st and 3rd metatarsals. I was told by doctor that he couldn't see anything on xray but has made me an appointment at a fracture clinic. My foot is now swollen, extremely painful and it has started tingling. I can't put weight on it and can't move my toes let alone feel anything but the pain. Is this normal?
