I Have Been Told I Have An Underactive Thyroid And

I have been told I have an underactive thyroid and have been suggested to completely change my diet and exclude all sucrose fructose dairy and grain. I have been suffering pain conditions all my life (hit by a bus at 6yo) not much help from doctors, first called a hypochondriac at a young age. Debilitating muscle conditions that leave me very weak and tendinitis. Given fibromayalgia diagnosis 5years ago, I feel this a cop out diagnosis. Had lots of gland issues and didn't sweat as a child, passed out lots. Lumpy and sore breasts, painful abdominal for 30 years. CAN IODINE HELP? AND DO IT NEED TO BE COMBINED WITH ANYTHING?
