I Have Been Told By My Doctor That My Mirena

I have been told by my doctor that my mirena which is due to be out(in for 5 years) can stay for another year and then have it removed....it is not used for contraception but for the relief of very heavy bleeding 5 years ago and she has guaranteed that it will be safe....what are your views and knowledge of this?
