I Have Been Told That My Mother Is In End

I have been told that my mother is in end stage of vascular dementia and has approximately 6 months to 1 year to live. Her doctor has started in home Hospice. However, it seems like some days she is much better and some she seems really bad. I don't know if it is just denial on my part, but it just doesn't seem like she is that close to me. She is not bed ridden, but has a lot of difficulty in walking, toliet use, dressing, basically every daily task. You also have to make sure she eats because she doesn't think about it on her own. Does 6 mohths to a year seem reasonable. Mild symptoms started about five years ago and have continually gotten worse and worse. Thank You
