I Have Been Using The Novolog Pen Taking 3 Doses

I have been using the Novolog pen taking 3 doses of 15 units --- morning, mid-day, and evening. My general practice doctor has changed the dosage to 30 units in the morning and 15 in the evening and I am having severe spikes/dips in my sugar levels.

Can I go back to the 3 doses instead of the 2? My GP has confirmed that I need to seek a specialist as he does not treat diabetes.
