I Have Chronic Bronchitis From Years Of Smoking, In December

I have chronic bronchitis from years of smoking, in December i had a viral infection and took predisone and virtussin syrup for it. I have type II diabetes and high blood pressure and take medication for both of them. Recently i had some body work done on my car and the inside of the car was full of fumes, two days later i came down with swollen glands, coughing, wheezing, and mucus in my throat and chest. Could this be due to the fumes irritating my lungs or do you think i have another viral infection?
