I Have Chronic Mucus At The Back Of My Throat

I have chronic mucus at the back of my throat resulting often in coughing and choking, an 'swallowing" I have GERD, but the mucus is a constant irritant and is driving me 'mad". Please advise. I have seen many throat specialists but they perform a routine without getting to doing something that helps.
