I Have Chronic Tonsillitis, And My Mother Thinks It Can

I have chronic tonsillitis, and my mother thinks it can be stopped if I stop smoking weed. I think regardless of me smoking weed, I will continue to get sick because it has happened multiple times a year for at least 4 years now. What do you guys think? If I stopped, would it actually change anything?
