I Have Circular Dark Shadows From My Right Eye That

I have circular dark shadows from my right eye that give the appearance of looking through a film. The night before it started I had flashes on the outer edge of the eye. I was driving with my moon roof open and first thought I was seeing shooting stars and realized it was coming from my eye. There is no pain. Kind of like lightning flashes. I still have that when I look to the right in the dark. I wear contacts but I have the shadows with or without the contact. Even when the eye is closed. Should I be concerned. I can function but it is difficult to focus at times. Do you think I should see a medical doctor or an eye doctor?
