I Have Congestion In The Chest. My Doctor Prescribe Me

I have congestion in the chest. My doctor prescribe me an antibiotic and prednisone. I have not started taking the antibiotic yet . Do you think the prednisone will clear up the congestion without the aide of the antibiotic? I am 27 ,teacher and non smoker.
