I have criss-crossing scars from abdominal surgeries from 30 and more years ago right on the "hairline" that has developed a sore that is like a hole, oval shaped. There is no pain, so I didn't notice it until my underwear began sticking to it and hurt when I removed them. I've been treating it with neopsporin ointment, bur it doesn't seem to go away completely. It's all but impossible to protect it with a bandage, so I think it keeps getting re-irritated. I've never had something like this.
