I Have Degenerative Disk Disease And Approx 4 Months Ago

I have degenerative disk disease and approx 4 months ago had an injection in the lower lumbar to ease inflammation and pain. followed up with doctor 6 weeks later and still had pain in my back, not as intense, but it hurt more to the right of the lower spinal column. Felt like someone had a wrench and was tightening in my left buttock. Again, I was sent for another injection, this one in the sacreatic (??s[spelling unsure) joint. After the numbing medicine wore off, I could not believe how much relief I got , no more twisting in the buttock), I still suffer from lumbar pain, seems to worsen every day, but what I am wondering is will the joint injection I got to relieve the pain in that area the dr called the S1 joint, come back? He told me he could not inject the joint more than the one time, as the medicine he injected in it wears away the cartridge and bone.
