I Have Developed Skin Sloughing Between Several Toes And Under

I have developed skin sloughing between several toes and under them at to proximal joint. They appear to come from small blisters. I have been wearing cotton socks. I do have hammer toes am 71 and have developed age related neuropathy in my toes to 1/2 my foot (EMG verified). Am I wearing the wrong socks? Wash feet every day , however, toes very misaligned with some underriding others.
