I Have Developed The Sensation Of Feeling Like There Is

I have developed the sensation of feeling like there is a object stuck at the top of the area of the esophagus, it is lately pretty consistent and although not painful it is uncomfortable, I am planning on seeing my doctor who already sent me for an ultrasound on the stomach, I am not sure that the ultrasound even covered the area of my question. Is there a possibility that I might have a 'hernia' there?
