I Have Diabetes 2 And I Have Some Neck Nerve

I have diabetes 2 and I have some neck nerve damage and for awhile now I have been having numbness in my hands but it has started to be a lot and more often that my hands & fingers go numb even through the night. What do you think might be the cause? I take metformin, B12, vitamin D, already.
