I Have Diagnosed With Ulcerative Colitis After Eating Medicine I.e

I have diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after eating medicine I.e mesacol it was under control but after a year my medicine was not effective at all now I have stop using it and start doing yoga got much relief , so how much time it will take to get rid of this and what causes this as I am athlete doing exercise everyday but still got this disease why?
