I Have Double Vision In My Left Eye Since 2012,

I have double vision in my left eye since 2012, I also found out later in that same year I have Hyperthyroidism
I have been told by a doc that does the sx. that he would operate on my GOOD eye,not the affected eye,so that scared me away,but I am strongly considering the sx. now. please advise,thanks wanda
