I Have Exfoliative Cheilitis An Have Had It For Years!

I have exfoliative cheilitis an have had it for years! I've used a variety of steroids over the years an I completely stopped them because I'm afraid of the long term effects. I still have the condition an went to a allergenist to get a patch test to see if it was caused by anything an the test showed I was allergic to quite a few things. So cutting out the things I was using that I'm allergic to, I'm only using this ointment called vaniply or this aquaphor that is for lip repair an that has SPF. I started welding school an I know the uv rays are pretty strong, I've heard theirs been medical procedures that use uv rays as treatment so I'm asking if what else I can do to heal this condition an any thoughts on the uv rays from the welding would just peel it an cause the skin to heal since UV light decreases activity of Langerhans cells. UV exposure triggers free radical formation and Langerhans cells are extremely vulnerable targets of free radiĀcal attack. So when Langerhans cells are compromised due to cumulative environĀmental damage, it is believed that wound healing is slower and collagen formation is affected? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
