I Have Extreme Pain In My Left Knee Can Not

I have extreme pain in my left knee can not put any weight on it or walk on it hurts to bend it. I tore cartilage on my left knee 30 yrs. ago from a fall off of a trampoline and was on crutches. Would this be Torn Meniscus/Cartilage. I've elevated it put ice on it and it's still throbbing. I guess I should take some ibuprofen and stay off of it?
