I Have Fluid On My Elbow. It's Not Painful Unless

I have fluid on my elbow. It's not painful unless I hit it on something. I am in a car most of the day due to my job and am always leaning on the armrest with my elbow. Over time could this cause my elbow problem? Do I need it drained even though it is not infected?
