I Have Gallstones And Have Scheduled Surgery. My Doctor Prescribed

I have gallstones and have scheduled surgery. My doctor prescribed percocetfor current pain which is not constant but is very painful for brief periods. I seem to have developed side effects from the percocet itching nausea upset stomach confusion and unusual thoughts. I sent a note to my doctor and have quit taking percocet. Should I take any other steps?
