I Have Genital Warts Which Have Been Burnt Three Times.

I have genital warts which have been burnt three times. Finally my doctor decided to remove them surgically, he said they are a lot better but always come back. He did not seem too concerned about them coming back. I have been sexually inactive for a 18 months or more because of this. I feel disgusting and embarrassed. What should I do?
