I have had UTI's almost continually for the past 5 -6 months; antibiotics have not arrested them. After the first UTI, I had some symptoms of a fungal infection of my perinea l area (discomfort, swelling, redness, etc.) and, using a mirror, I examined my vaginal area. I opened the entrance to my vagina using my fingers andI saw a brown area around the opening of my urinary meatus. After 6 months, it still looks the same. My primary concern is that I had a total hysterectomy 2 years years ago for ovarian cancer (left ovary); type of cell was clear cell. this past winter, I had another tumor; it was on my appendix. Pathology showed that it was benign, but I don't know the cell type. I am concerned that that this discoloration is due to some kind of cancer in my bladder; my physician said that he did not see anything when he examined me while I was under anesthesia. I have not seen any blood nor have I noticed any odor. My concern is that my physician did not see anything, but said that je will give me a thorough examination at my next office visit. My question for you: have you seen anything such as this during a vaginal exam, and if so, what did it turn out to be???
