I Have Had A MRI On Feb 16, 2016 Ahowing

I have had a MRI on Feb 16, 2016 ahowing materiial exuded from the L 5 lumbar spine which is causing the right leg to be in pain down to the foot and am planning on an epidural on this coming Wednesday in Atlanta. Are Steroid injections the right material to use? No doubt the exuded material will remain unless I hAVE SURGERY.. iS THE EPIDU\RAL THE FIRST COURSE?
