I Have Had A Biopsy Of Nodules In Thyroid And

I have had a biopsy of nodules in thyroid and one was suspecus
Went back in 6 months and it has grown from 1.8 to 2.4
Dr recommended surgery but no guarantee it is cancer
I have had both knees replaced and a double by pass
I am 81 years young
I am concerned with after effects--gaining weight---etc
