I Have Had A Cold/flu For Eight Days And Still

I have had a cold/flu for eight days and still have severe diarrhea. I cut back from 30 cigarettes a day, to 3 trying to quit. What is the reason for diarrhea and why is it I can only sleep a couple of hours at night? Should I take a medication for diarrhea or let it run its course? The mornings are the worst. Does my cutting back on smoking have anthing to do with the way I feel? Thanks, Donna.
