I Have Had A Cold Since Dec.26th . Last Week

I have had a cold since Dec.26th . Last week I had laryngitis. I am able to talk pretty well after 5 days but now my left ear ear is really hurting - especially when I cough. My husband thinks that I shouldn't go to the Doctor because I don't take antibiotics so he thinks it is a waste. I cough a lot in the morning and when I eat. Otherwise, I feel ok but I would like to get rid of the ear ache and the coughing. Do you think I can just wait, drink tea and honey and let my body get over this? I did have a flu shot but not the pneumonia shot. need to get a whooping cough shot before my grandson is born in Feb. so I need to get well. I do not smoke.
