I Have Had A Cold With Swollen Tonsils, Sore Throat,

I have had a cold with swollen tonsils, sore throat, and sinus congestion for two weeks. My quick strep test Monday was negative. Today my tonsils are more swollen and sorer than ever. My temperature is 96F and yet I feel hot. Do I have a fever? Should I take an antibiotic? I am 62, female, with managed hypothyroidism (14 years). Thanks, Chris in Colorado
