I Have Had A Cough For 6 Weeks, Initially With

I have had a cough for 6 weeks, Initially with mucus. was treated with Z pack, then with slight reduction in mucus, was put on doxycycline as well as then prednisone and inhaler as there were wheezing symptoms. I now have no mucus or wheezing, but if I sneeze or laugh and initiate a cough there is about 6 0r seven ina row and I am gasping for air. the shortness of breath is with the coughing almost sounds like a classic whooping cough? any thoughts?
