I Have Had A Culture Taken And Came Back Positive

I have had a culture taken and came back positive for strep. I was prescribed the z-pack I believe however after 3days it was not working. I was then prescribed amoxicillin and cavulante potassium. After one day my swollen white patched covered tonsils have BLACK spots. Is this a serious turn or is it the medicine working?
