I have had a dull ache at the level of my right hip since October 2015. Also at that time, the same discomfort in the right lower quadrant. In Dec. Ultrasound identified two small right groin hernias - reducible which contain fat (I am female, 80 years old, 5 ' 8" tall, 175 lbs). The CT Scan in January resulted in no evidence of inguinal or femoral hernias. The Scan did not examine the area of discomfort at the right hip level. This pain I still have. I need to sit up to sleep for 4 hours after lying on my left side from 11 pm - 4 am. I do not take any medication for this ache and it has remained the same since it started in October.
A bit of history: In Feb 2014, I had pneumonia, taking two antibiotics and coughing severely. I also had an expectorant. In Oct 2015, I was moving a lot of heavy tubs full of books and teaching materials which I wanted to deal with. I lifted them up to make room for them in a spare room.
Thank you very much. I look forward to your replies.
