I Have Had A Hard Knot Appear On The Right

I have had a hard knot appear on the right side of the roof of mouth about a year ago. The past two weeks I have been having a severe stabbing pain in that area and it has also caused the pain to shot down to the base of my skull and down into my neck. Should I be alarmed by this. I was also diagnosed 1 year ago with 69 percent occulsion in my carotid artery so I am really concerned.
