I Have Had A Pain On The Right Side Of

I have had a pain on the right side of my mid/lower back for the past 4-5 weeks. It's a constant 4 or 5 on the pain scale. I assumed it was a kidney stone and have been drinking about 10-12 glass of water a day with no change in the pain. I am 49 years old, female, non smoker, relatively healthy otherwise. I recently started a new job and won't have insurance until December. Although I feel that I need to have this diagnosed, I am afraid if I do have anything of concern, it will be considered pre-existing for when I do have a new policy. Also of course, the cost of treatment and diagnostics without having insurance.
