I Have Had A Sore Throat For Over 2 Months

I have had a sore throat for over 2 months now. Started out along with cold symptoms. Went to a doctor 10 days in and had sinus infection. Took antibiotics for 10 days. Felt good for 2 days after the antibiotics then felt like crud again. 2.5 months into this and my throat is still sore. The very back of my tongue has enlarged taste buds and my voice is very hoarse. What could this be? Would a virus last this long? I don't want to go back to the doctor if they can't help me.
