I Have Had A Soreness In My Nose, And Today

I have had a soreness in my nose, and today there is swelling on the outer part. I have noticed some blood in the kleenex a few times when I have blown my nose over the last couple of days. If I am remembering this correctly, a few years ago a doctor told me I had something called (possibly) rhinitis or something like that. Do I need to get this checked out? Will it go away on its own?
