I Have Had A Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cut Out, But

I have had a squamous cell carcinoma cut out, but the lab report states " the lesion extends to one peripheral margin at one tip. The remaining margins are free." My doctor is treating the area with Curaderm cream. Should I be concerned, since I have been told this has not been approved as effective treatment by the FDA?
