I Have Had A "swollen" Area On My Left Side

I have had a "swollen" area on my left side bottom of my neck. My doctor has examined it routinely for several years. Now it is more swollen- has a squishy lump and I can feel a small hard lump. Should I go to my family doctor, or does it appear to be something that will require immediate treatment. I didnt notice the change until I touched it tonight
