I Have Had An Extreme Itch Over My Thyroid Area

I have had an extreme itch over my thyroid area of the neck for several weeks, won't go away with cortisone creams. It started with an itching, scaling, and flaking of the skin on the back of my right ear (which I still have) and pubic area itch only at night. My dog shares my bed! Is this where it's coming from? I am diabetic II for 20 years.
