I Have Had An Itch In My Ear For 5

I have had an itch in my ear for 5 months now. Lately, I have used some q-tips to get out wax out of my ear. Sometimes this wax has a bad odor. Last week, I think because of using the q-tips too often, I made my ear get swollen. I had to go to the doctor because it was hurting a lot. They said that I had a swimmers ear and gave me drops. My ear feels fine, but it is starting to itch again. Last night, I had a liquid in my ear (I slight put in my finger in my ear, and I could feel the liquid). This morning, this liquid hardened and is making my ear itch a lot. I am wondering if this liquid is the cause of the problem and what I could do to treat this?
